Frosty Outlook in the Nature Area

When I woke up this morning, the sky was perfectly clear, a crescent moon riding high, and the sun just peeping over the horizon. It was cold outside with a touch of ground frost and I couldn’t wait to see what the Nature Area looked like with its wintery coat on. It was a challenge to capture the feel of the place, the bright sunshine and dark shadows competing for the camera’s attention. Where the sun had touched, the colours were rich and bright, but most of the site had yet to warm and a sprinkle of frosting remained leaving subdued monochromatic tones. I always feel there is something special about the icy hoar decorating the leaves and seed heads.
