The Short-winged Cone-head cricket (Conocephalus dorsalis) is one of the nine species of Orthoptera tentatively identified so far in the Charlton Down Nature Area in Dorset.
Listen here for the sounds this cricket makes which are normally beyond the range of the human ear. Tom Perrett has captured these stridulation noises using a bat recorder in our nature area, and has kindly permitted us to share the recording.
