White Plume Moth

The White Plume Moth (Pterophorus pentadactyla) looks very strange and a little spooky. It is completely white and it has wings that look like feathers. Sorry for the poor quality of the image. This one was seen in the hedgerow of the Community Orchard next door to the Charlton Down Nature Area. One of the 38 species of Lepidoptera recorded so far.
