Small Purple and Gold Moth

The Small Purple and Gold Moth (Pyrausta aurata) also known as the Mint Moth. It is just under a centimetre in length and the larvae feed on marjoram of which we have plenty on the site. One of the 38 species of Lepidoptera found in the Charlton Down Nature Area so far.
