








The adult form (imago) of the Cinnabar moth (Tyria jacobaeae) has a striking coloration and pattern with one red bar and two red spots on each black wing. The Cinnabar larvae or caterpillars of this species are an unmistakable orange and black striped pattern. and they mainly feed on ragwort. This is one of 38 species of Lepidoptera recorded so far at Charlton Down Nature Reserve.
