Sorry for the fuzzy photographs. Best I could do in the rain. The Green Carpet Moth (Colostygia pectinataria) is one of 38 species of Lepidoptera recorded in Charlton Down Nature Area so far. The larvae feed on bedstraws – and there is Lady’s Bedstraw and Hedge Bedstraw on the site; and the adult shown here is feeding on Cow Parsley flowers.
